I’m landscape architecture student in Aalto University, and by chance have done also a lot of architecture studies. A hobby? Perhaps, or probably I’m just a bit passionate at studying. I’m older student, and before Aalto I also studied long time in Helsinki University first biology and then aesthetics. Or, could there be also another reason like indecisivines? No, I’m honestly just really curious about learning new things. Well, and also experiencing new things though.
I am a lifelong enthusiast of built heritage. While doing my Master’s degree, I work at a small practice in Helsinki on projects ranging from building history surveys and valuations to heritage strategies and building design. I am fascinated by historical environments, by the diversity of their atmospheres, scents, handprints, echos, and the senses of material and place. Most of all, I love the way time manifests itself in them. Stratification makes me both hearty and serene.

I am Eglė Pilipavičiūtė – a Lithuanian master`s student of “Urban studies and planning” at Aalto university. I hold a degree in Architecture from the Kaunas University of Technology of Lithuania. In addition, I have few years of work experience in an architectural office, where I learned about complexity, sensitivity and integration difficulties of a new development in preserved areas and cultural heritage objects. I am also interested how social relationships are a core element of all decisions and how an architect or an urban planner has to maintain them in order to create a valuable and relevant project for all users.
On my free time I enjoy being in nature, visiting galleries or spending time with my family and friends. I am interested in horse riding and paragliding.
